Praying The Psalms Group

The Psalms are a collection of poetic and lyrical prayers and songs found in the Old Testament of the Bible. The Psalms cover a wide range of themes and expressions, including praise, thanksgiving, lament, confession, and wisdom.

Praying the Psalms is a spiritual practice where as a group, we engage in prayer and meditation using the biblical book of Psalms. Praying the Psalms allows individuals to connect with these varied aspects of the human experience and bring their joys, struggles, and concerns before God in a deeply personal and meaningful way.

In our group, we will read and pray a Psalm as a focus for personal reflection and meditation. I will lead us through a specific Psalm as we spend time contemplating its meaning, connecting it to their own life experiences, and allowing the words to guide their prayers and thoughts.

“To glorify God with our entire heart, mind, soul, and strength, the Psalms are necessary.”
